U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis has once again voiced her support for Bitcoin, stating on Thursday that the leading cryptocurrency is “freedom money” and will make life “better for every American.”
The Republican from Wyoming remains one of the most prominent pro-Bitcoin voices in the U.S. Congress. Over the years, she has actively worked on several initiatives to secure regulatory clarity for digital assets, particularly around taxation and property rights.
According to Lummis, Bitcoin represents a legitimate store of value outside government control, acting as a shield against inflation and as an alternative to the traditional banking system. She argues that it is especially important for the unbanked and those exposed to unstable monetary policies.
Her remarks come at a time when Congress is debating key legislation on crypto assets, including stablecoin regulations and the role of the SEC. In this context, Lummis’ stance carries increasing political weight.
For much of the crypto community, her statement reinforces the idea that Bitcoin is more than speculation it is a tool for individual financial sovereignty and systemic change.
